Architect | Inscape Architects |
This is a large scale housing development in Jaipur comprising 600,000 square feet of 14 storey residential apartments and the associated social and recreational amenities. In order to meet the demands of high quality in a tight time frame, the project has developed specific structural and delivery systems which can respond to the need. Flat slab construction and component standardization combined with earthquake resistant shear walls, give the simplicity and repetitiveness for speed. At the same time the structural system generates its own elegance. The services are integrated into the shear wall cores for cleaner and easier to maintain buildings. Raft foundations with a sandwiched retaining wall box basement reduces the earthquake loads on the superstructure and at the same time increases the speed of construction at costs lower than conventional. |

Client | Ambuja Realty Development Ltd. |
Architect | Salient Design, Kolkata |
This is a mixed development with two residential towers of 18 storeys, malls, commercial block, a hotel tower and a multiplex. A challenge in this project was to develop efficiency of stresses in the structural frame through judicious conceptualisation and sophisticated modelling such that the overall consumption of concrete and steel reduces significantly. For example, in the moderately high earthquake zone, the total steel consumption in the residential towers has worked out to less than 4 kg/sqft of built-up area inclusive of all laps, cutting wastes and the substructure steel. For the non-residential areas, flat slab and column/shear wall structure with just the perimeter beams is developed for simplicity, speed, flexibility and high economy. |
